Sonic Frontiers is a platform game from SEGA. Dubbed as the latest official title for Sonic's 3D adventure, this game will have you follow the famous hedgehog as he traverses an open world. Here, you will explore the Starfall islands as you try to stop Dr. Eggman from unleashing an ancient technology.

Sonic Frontiers is the first Sonic the Hedgehog game to feature open-world gameplay. The game map will comprise various biomes, including flowery fields, forests, ancient ruins, and deserts. Players will even find the open-world design similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. 

What does the game offer?

Sonic Frontiers will feature Sonic's newest adventure. As with the other Sonic games, it features another battle between the famous hedgehog and Dr. Eggman. The story begins with Dr. Eggman's failure to control an ancient technology. After that mishap, Sonic sets out to rescue his friends and learn the true nature of the technology. He will explore the Starfall Islands, which comprises various biomes.

As mentioned, the game accelerates your experience to a new height as it comes with open-world gameplay. With this, you have the freedom to speed through various landscapes brimming with dense forests, overflowing waterfalls, and sizzling deserts, among others. Of course, there will also be a variety of powerful enemies that you will battle as you explore and complete your mission.

At first glance, players will notice that this latest Sonic game took notes from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. More than the open-zone freedom it now provides, players will find various nods to the action-adventure game, including  Shieikah Tower-like structures around the map. However, it will still feature the adrenaline-pumping gameplay that SEGA's Sonic games are known for.
